Guidelines and Due Dates for Chemistry IRP Students

Step 1. Write a Cause and Effect Question - post to wiki. Due Date January 20.
Step 2. Locate 5 sources, write annotated bibliography - post to Echo Activities. Due Date January 27.
Step 3. Write hypothesis. Post to wiki. Due date Feb 3.
Step 4. Write Introduction - post to Turn it in.com. Due Date Feb 10.
Step 5. Construct an experimental design diagram, and write procedure. Print and turn in a real piece of paper. Due Feb 14, 2012.

Safety Check - write a journal in Echo Activity describing the safety procedures for your experiment. Be specific and include information from MSDS if applicable. Due to Echo March 9.

Step 6. Construct 2 sample data tables, one for raw data, one for display of central tendency and variation. Print and turn in a real piece of paper. Due Feb 24, 2012.
Step 7. Try the procedure to see if it works! If not adjust the procedure and try again.

Step 8. Collect and record preliminary raw data in a table.
Turn in on a real piece of paper. Due April 13, 2012
Photo and/or video evidence is required for Honors credit. Photos must display data collection in a convincing manner. Take photos of all assembled materials and of you collecting the data.

Step 6. Analyze data for statistical signficance according to type of variables. Present central tendency and analysis of variance in a table and figure. April May 2, 2012 - Turn in on a real piece of paper.
Step 7. Write final report. Send to Turn it in.com. May 9, 2012
Step 8. Presentation with video & photo evidence of data collection. Post to Echo Activities. May 15, 2012.
